Black 1990 Fiesta Rs Tutbo *SOLD SOLD*
For sale my Fiesta RS turbo. Black H reg 1990 115000 miles. 5 months mot
All the standard features of the RS turbo are retained on this car, i.e full Green stripe set, rear pop outs, Recaro interior, original 3 spoke wheels etc. I have owned this for 6 years and before that my brother owned it for 2 years, So it’s been in the family for 8 years in total. I have mostly used the car on dry evenings and weekends along with the odd Ford show.
The car was purchased by brother from Birmingham in 2002. As soon as he got it the engine underwent a full rebuild to standard specification, this work was carried out by my Dad. It had:
New pistons & rings
New bearings
Head skimmed, pressure & crack tested
New oil pump
New water pump
New turbo
New radiator
New clutch
Intercooler de-coked and cleaned
New gaskets, Thermostat and cooling fluid.
Will see if my Dad has any receipts for this but, i can assure you hand on heart the above work was all done, and this will be confirmed if you hear and see it running as its a very quiet cvh.
The car has been very well maintained, with oil changes every 3000 miles and oil & filter at 6000 miles. Since my ownership I have covered less than 15000 miles with it. The car has not seen a winter for 4 years. I have only used the car in the summer and it tends to stay in the Garage for most of this time, not driven in the rain for the last 4 years either.
I would say the condition of this car is very good, I am a Ford enthusiast and know what condition most mk3 Fiestas are in these days. However the car is not concourse. The body and paint are in very good condition; the Black shines beautifully and cleans up very well with minimal swirls in the clear coat. Recently clayed, waxed polished and sealed. There are no real dents to speak of on the car bar some very small ones on the top of the bonnet. Since the car has been in our ownership it has always been wax oyled underneath, in the sills and arches etc, around once every 2 years. Rust wise the car is very good, however there are some very small blisters below the fuel cap as can be seen in the photo, I do have a genuine Ford replacement rear quarter panel to go with the vehicle if required, I am sure if you are looking at one of these cars you don’t need me to tell you that this is perhaps the most common rust spot on the Mk3. The only other area which has very minor blistering in the paint is on the very edge of the bonnet again I have tried to photo this, I must stress in both of the above cases these are just blisters in the paint, the paint is not broken and there are no unsightly holes etc. The only other mark on the car I can think of is a tiny chip in the rear bumper its about the diameter of a pea! The more eagle eyed will note it has the later mk3.5 mirrors on and rear hatch. I can supply both the original mirrors and hatch if required. I replaced the hatch around 5 years ago as the original one had some rust blisters on it above the Ford badge. I still have it in the Garage so if required it can go with the car. The only other exterior modifications are the doors are de-locked and the rear lights have been changed for a set of genuine RS accessory items.
The car has 4 good tyres. Brakes wise it has standard callipers with green stuff pads and drilled and grooved discs.
This car is mostly standard which is rare to find these days, the only modifications on the car are:
AVO height adjustable coil over suspension (Bought new in 2005 at around £550)
Magnex stainless steel exhaust from turbo back
Piper 285 T cam kit including cam belt. This was fitted in 2005 and has covered less than 6000 miles.
Stage 1 “165” superchip.
The car does not smoke or burn any oil neither on boost, start-up or over run. It does not run hot and uses no water. No mayo discolouration under the oil cap etc. The radiator fan kicks in and out as it should with no issues to report. This engine has been extremely well cared for, I never drive it anywhere until its fully up to temperature, I have never revved it hard from cold, and the engine & turbo have always been allowed to cool before turning it off.
The interior of the car is standard it even has the original clock. The standard Recaro trim is in good order with only the slightest wear on the driver seat, sadly there is one small cigarette burn on the drivers chair. The rest of the interior is fine with no cracks in the dash etc. There are no boy racer speakers in the rear parcel shelf but it does have a Sony CD player. The car has only been used as a second vehicle so has always been kept clean and tidy inside. The only thing to say about other than mentioned is the driver’s side door card is just beginning to come away in the corner but not as bad as others I have seen.
I have not had the car on the road for the past 2/3 years, however early last year I decided I would use it so taxed and MOT’d it in May/June. All it needed for its MOT was the washer jets clearing, a rear brake pipe and a new suspension bush. Since being on the road from it being mot’d I have done roughly 450 dry miles in it and most of them were done as part of the Cornwall RSOC Moore’s tour.
I have very much enjoyed owning this car and its a reluctant sale really but times change and its time for someone else to use the car, as at the moment it just stays in the Garage.
To sum up this is a tidy example of what is now a rare car and I would say in very good condition for its age. Please don’t expect it to be like a new Fiesta as it is’nt, its 20 years old. Would ideally like the car to go to alike minded enthusiast. I have tryed to photo most of the car, any questions please ask.
Car is located in Devon. Viewing more than welcome, but please don’t come to pick holes in it and tell me you have seen this and that elsewhere and make silly offers etc. I have been a member of this site for years and a lot of the history of my ownership can be found on here.
Sorry for the car being dirty in some of those photos, It will be all clean tomorrow.
Price is £2600 o.n.o

Thanks chap, is the focus advertised?
Will be a shame when it goes, but I hope it gets looked after by the new owner.

Re: 1990 Fiesta Rs Turbo
Its not just yet.
I'v just changed clutch master cylinder this morning and refurbed the wheels in white (which need some white gel overlays from dmb) and it needs a new windscreen and a good valet then will be getting some piccys up and selling.
Want to get around the 3k mark for it as its been so well looked after but will have to see what happens.

Gareth.
It's a Phs2 51 plate. Has a folder of history and receipt. Think I am the 4th Owner. Cambelt was done at 58k last year by a renault specialist(thats a £500 job)
Totally standard bodywise. Has a ITG panel filter, decat (org cat coems with car), stainless system with stealth box
Good condition all round, bar a slight mark on the pass rear arch where some dickless f**k has made contact in a carpark. Should come out with a detail though

Hi there, that pic makes it look a lot worse theres no bubbling there.
TBH the pictures dont really do the car justice. RE the coil overs im not sure, i have not adjusted them since i bought them new and fitted them in 2005/06. I did coat the coils in copper grease though, so they ought to be ok.
