Action Day @Castle Combe 19th april...Meeting Time & Place

Postby hb69 on Mon Dec 24, 2007 7:21 pm

As its only 5 days until the event, i need to sort where we are meeting to give out tickets, track passes etc

Im pretty sure Morissons is ideal for us to meet up at. The petrol station opens at 7am, so people can fill up before the show, they have cash points etc too

We will need to be there from about 7.30am, so all tickets etc can be given out, and people can get fuel etc. Look around the car park for my Audi, it is likely to be quite busy there. We should be leaving Morissons at around 8.00am to do the 5 mile journey to the circuit, hopefully there wont be too many queues to get in and we can get the stand sorted with plenty of time before the track session at 9.45am:)

For people with satnav the postcode for Morissons is SN146UZ and Castle Combe circuit is SN14 7EY

Directions from Morissons to the circuit are below :-

http://www.multimap.com/directions/?qs_1=sn146uz&countryCode_1=GB&qs_2=sn14+7ey&displayName_2=sn14+7ey&countryCode_2=GB&mode=driving&optimizeFor=quickest#map=51.47846,-2.17473|14|4&p=mm.poi.UK.premium.traffic

I will PM everyone one who is coming with my mobile number, so if they have any problems with getting there, or any concerns beforhand they can let me know.

List of people on the fiestaturbo.com stand

1.hb69 (track) (free admission)
2.MixonFRST (free admission)
3.rsonblackwheels (track*paid*) (free admission)
4.Tweek (free admission)
5.GeForce Junky (free admission)
6.Chris 2i (free admission)
7.Scort/ Hot Tap/ Captain Tightpants etc..... (track*paid*) (free admission)
8.Heeman10 (track*paid*) (free admission)
9.sjoyce666 (track*paid*) (free admission)
10.garyhurn77 (free admission)
11.black2 (free admission)
12.raf16 (free admission)
13.mk3modda (track*paid*)
14.snakeyjake

There is one more space on the stand, it will cost £8 admission per person, if you pay in advance (http://www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk/actiondays.htm) and i think its a little bit more on the gate

Some good news, and a bit of bad-

The Bad: We are only allowed 12 free admissions for the club. So its only right that the first 12 who said they would come get the free admission. Undoubtedly some people will pull out, so ill update the list above as appropriate.

The Good The tickets, track passes etc are all with me, we have been allocated a pretty good place at the show too. Those of you that need to pay me £16.66 for their track sessions i will pm in a second. Our session is at 9.45am, (i presume the 9.30 slot i applied for was full) this does give people an extra 15 mins to get themselves sorted, every minute counts

For collecting the tickets i suggest we meet in morissons car park near castle combe, and i can hand out the tickets to people there, to save postage costs etc, and we can all go to the circuit from there :)

They are normally £25/ session in advance, though they might have gone up this year.

I will phone the Combe office over the next couple of days and find out some more info for us.

You book advanced sessions over the phone :D

What I have done in the past is booked 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon.

I will keep this post updated

Just spoken to Maria at Castle Combe,

shes the lady you need to ask for when booking track time :D

Tel. no. is 01249782417

Cost in advance is £25/car,

No slicks :(

Sessions are 15mins long,

So I was thinking something like this;

2 sessions in the morning and 2 in the afternoon for me.

If other people want to book a session at the same time that would be excellant,

would be good to see a few Fiestas going round on the limit :o :D

The times I was thinking of doing were;

10am, noon, 2pm and 4pm

gives a nice bit of time between to let the cars cool down and do any maintainance on them.
before the next session

Let me know how that sounds and I can book my sessions up

Cheers :aviator:

right, just rang maria at castle combe.

the booking for the track sessions isnt sorted completely yet :( but we discussed the possibility of having an ft.com stand :aviator: and she will be sending me the necessary information to organise a stand for the event, if we have enough interest. the benefits of being on a club stand are free entry and apparantly discount on track time. this is yet to be confirmed as ill be awaiting a hard copy of the info in the post.

Yeah, if you book a club stand then you do get free entry with

a pre-booked number of tickets.

We in the Dorset RSOC have been going for years doing just this :D

Not heard about discounts for track through that,

I would not be on FT stand though :(

But even if we get 6 or so cars wanting to go on the FT stand its deffo worth doing.

Cheers :aviator:

Postby hb69 on Thu Jan 03, 2008 10:43 pm

basically the discount on the track time works out at about £15 a session, and this is limited to only a few passes, after that there is another limited amount of passes that takes it to about £20 a session, after that its £25 for a 15 minute session (which feels alot longer on the track) entry is free if you are on a club stand, as its not a Ford only show other makes would be fine. apparantly im one of the first people to enquire about track time etc, but if there are enough people interested in a stand etc (not sure on numbers or anything yet as its early days) then we should be able to sort something out.

for those of you interested in going on track i can recommend castle combe as a fun and very fast track, the start/ finish straight is very quick, but its not a difficult track either :aviator:

Just spoke to Maria.....again :bonkers: and your right Henry,

each club that books a club stand can get 6 track passes for £100,

then further ones cost £20/session.

So I have put my name down for 4 in my local Rs group

Wayne, take your motor on mate, its great fun and you can go at your own pace

Be really good to see 10 or so Fiesta's going around on the same session :aviator:

Happy Days :D :D

Well, if Henry is booking a club stand, I would put my name down for a couple of £15 track sessions if I were you

I have a couple of other mates,
one with a Sapphire Cosworth and another with a MK5 XR3i 2.0
who hopefully will be doing the same times as me.
So if we all meet and queue together, we can then all go out one after another

yeah, if theres enough interest then ill try to sort a club stand for the event, waiting for the paperwork to arrive still, then i can sort out whats going on really.

your definately out at 10 o'clock first Shaun? ill try and sort it so i go out then aswell, seeing as im one of the first to enquire about track time etc, might be a bit of a rush to get the drivers briefing and noise testing done before, im sure its doable though :)

We could always do 10.30am and 12.30pm, 2pm and 4pm

gives us a bit more time to swap wheels in the morning etc

If you think that would be better for you Henry. :D

It is a bit manic queuing for sound testing and the briefing,

thats why I like to get there nice and early :)

yeah they sound a bit more like it, though i may only do like 10.30 and 2pm or something, all depends on how much money ive got when i book it. your going to be changing wheels? my road tyres should be fine for the track. if im on a stand ill need to be there for 9am, so that gives enough time to get the briefing and sound testing out the way if i head pretty much straight there as soon as i arrive.

There not taking bookings yet fella,

and club stand booking forms will not be sent out for a few weeks.

If Henry is getting a stand together (which looks likely)

Put your name down with him for however many sessions you want to do.

Its cheaper £15 ish/session compared to £25.

But it is all a bit early at the mo. the forms havn't even been printed yet

Probably best if Henry starts a list up with people wanting to go on the FT. stand

And people wanting track time and how many sessions. :D :D

Payment will need to be sent in with the club stand booking form to get the cheap price(s)

I really can't wait to get on track again :Q :Q

Cheers. :aviator:

Steve may not be the only member of For-Tune PVE staff hoping to make a showing! :D

I'll see if I can bump mine back up past the 200bhp mark for the event, get the bugger out on track, see if cast pistons can take double their standard intended power output for 15 minute WOT sessions!
