My fiesta rs turbo. The end.
Hey cahps,
As you know the FRST is being stripped and sold, today i made a start,
Started with the removal of the bumper and splitter. Then off with the FMIC,followed by the rad and all the blue hoses.
Put the standard rad and IC back in, along with the foed boost hoses. Also took off the chrome heat sheild.
THings left to remove are, beige injectors - chrome - coilys - wheels - rear lights - brakes etc.
Will keep updating this post because i will document the return to standard here.
PICS:
Cooler off
standard rad & IC set up
Pace rad out
Standard set up back in
And back in the shed out of the elements, looking a little sorry for its sefl
Ran the car up to check the coolant system had'nt air locked and all was fine, then took the beast for a spin, everything is ok so far.
Got a some very very minor surface rust around the bolt holes for the front bumper which can be seen in the pics above - i will be sanding off and painting up, its nothing serioius but if it gets left then who knows, it may go all the way through.
Gareth.

Yeah selling the car as a standard example.
Its being put back to how ford intended, carfully - not just bodged for a sale. The only modifications it will have will be :
Piper 285 t cam kit
vernier cam wheel
piper x filter
magnex zorst
9psi.
So should be a little up on power from the standard 132bhp.
As for on to bigger and better things.........well im after a focus RS.

Re: And so it begins..................
Jay, i 100% agree with you it is a shame to sell, but i feel its time to move on - dont get me wrong theres nothing wrong with the car its fantastic to drive and always great fun.
I fancy a go with a focus rs now so at least i will still have a ford, i just think of the focus as being the modern equivilent to the FRST - which basically it is.
Thanks chap,
Gareth.

Shame to see it in bits, but i'm sure it will look good once its back to its original state. Whats happening with the front bumper? isn't it chopped around for the intercooler?

Totally agree with Dan.
To be honest it will sell faster standard as everyone has the same thing in mind, buy standard it hasn't been messed around with - what they don't know is it was once a beast
Good luck with the sale and the Focus

It will look nice and complete again soon......
As for the front bumper, well im on the hunt for preferable a genuine RS turbo one and not the xr2i one as they are different and im a fussy git and want the right bits on the correct car, so if you hear of one going give me a shout, dos'nt have to be in Black just so long as its in good condition.
Chris / Dan - Cheers chaps theres no way im breaking the entire car for bits. I want some one else to have it and look after it the way we have.

Well i want 3k for it, i hope that should be doable, as i think its a nice example of a rare car - and its been looked after like a baby for the last five years.
The shine is lovely - Black cars look good when clean, but they are a nightmare to keep looking good!
Cheers Mark,

Hi all - not much of an update and no photo either im afraid - but yesterday i managed to source an original FRST front bumper in tip top condition with the lights as well which are the best i have seen!
Best part is that it was local to me and in such good shape - also as i said above i did'nt want the more common xr2i bumper as they are not correct for the FRST - im a fussy git Just need to have it sprayed now though as its currently red.
Also whilst i collected that i also bought some good condition frst recaros for a bargain price - which are destined for the B reg!
That is all
Gareth.

Heres a few pics anyway.
Standard rocker cover etc

Funny this post should pop up.....
Still got the car & its still sat in the garage at home. I have done nothing to it since those last update of this thread. But last weekend i opened the garage door & had a look at the old girl, that gave me some insperation so this week end i might have an FRST weekend & do a bit more.
I need to change the front hubs, (currently still got the escos barkes on the front which i fitted) then fit the standard discs & calipers which will then allow me to fit the standard wheels again. I was going to take the coil overs off and sell them but i cant be arsed now so they will stay on the car.
It didnt go on the road at all last year but i think i might tax it again for this summer, not sure will see how i feel & TBH if i do stick it up for sale this year and i dont get any offers for what i want for it (due the econmy affecting the car market) i will just keep it in the Garage untill things pick up again.
Gareth.

Only being striped of non standard parts my freind - not being broken up for spares.
It will be back standard again soon, sitting on the original three spokes with the only mods really being the coilovers, magnex exhaust and thats it.

Well chaps, a small update today on the FRST but no pics im afraid.
I have'nt touched the car in over a year just been sat under the car cover in the Garage on its own. Well today i thought id go & give the old girl a run. Stuck the jump leads on, disconnected the coil pack, swung it over build up oil pressure re-connected the coil pack & she fired up first time. . Took it for quick spin (trade plates) & then set about removing the forge actuator in order to re-fit the Standard item which i have now done.
Really reminded my self how much fun & how great these cars are to drive, even with the standard acuator, which has the rod wound out resulting in approx 1psi of boost, lol it was still great to drive could really feel the piper cam pulling in.
Any way tommorw i shall set the boost to the standard 7psi - then i shall set about removing the cosworth brakes.
Pics & update tomorrow
Gareth.
