Postby TIL13R on Mon Mar 30, 2009 7:23 pm

Right after fianlly getting all the work done went to turn the key and........................ NO SPARK.....

Have made sure there is fuel to the manifold.

Just no spark at the plugs, The Coilpack as it was working on old engine,

Checked voltage at coil pack plug on ignition but doesnt seem to have a stead 12v supply... is that correct..??

Also does the crank sensor affect the coil pack given out a spark at all...?? as the plug for the crank sensor isnt in great shape.

Please help me im at a lost end have come this far i just want it to work....

Cheers

Tiller

Cps?

Go through the wiring bit by bit, sometimes its better to go back to it the next day and you will probably notice something obvious you've missed

I had the same problem with mine. As said above, the CPS was out by the tiniest fraction and caused me so much grief

Was just a matter of me having to play about with the position of it for a few minutes until it was spot on.

Just a suggestion, but well worth a try :D

u may have the wrong cps sensor in the block.

Escort is different from fiesta.

Check to see if the cps sensor goes right up to the flywheel. i wasn't getting spark in the isle of wight as the sensor was mounted on a big spacer and wasn't sitting up to the flywheel and not reading the indentations on the flywheel. Changed the sensor from my efi fiesta item to the escort one and bingo.

The escort turbo item is same length but mounts differently :)

yeah fcuking spacer , i said when i fitted it that it looked to long, just as well you had the right CPS with ya or you would of walked home

right then.
as said sounds like a CPS prob, as this tells the ecu where the engine and and thus the spark can be fired when needed.
if your not getting a spark at all try the following

different CPS
check the CPS plug
if its ever been re-wired i.e new plug, change the wires around
check the edis wiring
check/change the edis
if the ecu is chipped, remove it

whats happening when you put ignition on? pump rpiming then stopping or does it keep on priming?

oh yeah, are the earth wires all bolted back onto the engine?
