no pics but the bottom arms are off :( and so is the rad time for a bigger one :D and getting some new arms for it ill say no more for now but watch this space :D

can i ask what pistons you are using for what C/R? What other mods have you done to the engine? Removed the VVCT?

im running custom wiseco's and my cr is 8-7-1 static with wrc focus rods and a fully balanced bottom end .i was running the st170 head with vvt but not anymore its a blacktop now :(

pulled the engine out for a bit of a clean up :o so what colour should i paint the cam cover, inlet and the boost pipes the engine bay is getting a re-paint. :)

ah ok, yeah I see you changed the head having read the thread properly! Are you getting more power with the Blacktop than with the ST170 head?

the whole lot is out now selling the box :) ive just bought a focus rs gearbox for it so looks like ive got my work cut out for me :o

engine out, bay/engine freshen up, and fitting a box that isnt supposed to be in that bay, all in time for the end of the month lol. good luck mate 8)

Im going to be fitting a blacktop into an xr2i and wondered how the engine mount was fitted as its the side bolting wrap around mount? Would you be able to provide us some pics to show how the mount is fitted to the chassis please? :)

i modified a fieste turbo engine mount , got the gearbox to day :D going to give it my best shot for classic ford show 8)
getting the gear cables tomorrow and the mount for the box then its just shafts and the hydraulic clutch to sort :)

clutch is the easiest job mate, bit of mk5 bulkhead sticthed into your bulkhead and a mk5 peddle box. only bit i havent fully worked out is the shafts for length etc as the box isnt in car yet.

are you running mk3.5 hubs and shocks as you will need to to get the focus shafts into the hubs.

only bit i cant do on mine myself is the mounts as i want them looking factory with nice welds ad mine are also a bit agricultual looking.

sorted the hydraulic clutch today :D i used half of a focus peddle box and half of the fiesta one ,next job is the shafts :bonkers:

been busy in the garage tonight , thats all the welding for the gearbox mounting point done just need to re fit engine and box this week and sort the shafts out :D

cheers mate :)

the engine and box are back in again :o had a nice hose made up for the hydraulic clutch moved the rear brake compensators and the nos and re piped and plumed it all in :D also got a focus rs gear stick and the up rated ap organic clutch :)

not sure if will make it to classic ford show just got back off holiday last night been away for a week!! got to fit the clutch and fly wheel and put the engine and box in bleed all the brakes and clutch fit the shafts put the dash in ect ect but will give it best shot. :D

been at it all day, the engine box and shafts are in box is filled with fluid and the clutch has been bled and i must say it feels sooo nice :D going back out there now to get stuck in

just got home had a great time :) done plenty of runs all in the low 13s and high 12s off gas !!! and with more boost to come . best time i did was a 12.78 :D

glad to see that it held up and did well.

can you do me a favor and pm me the spec of your engine as i am interested to see what sort of spec it is compaired to the one ive just built to see roughly what mine should do. wont be running gas on mine tho.

well its time i put a pic of the bottom arms up for all to see ! these should stop me from pulling into both lanes on the 1/4mile lol :lol: ,
they have two 22,000lb high angular load bearings and a 33,000lb race rod end bearing :D with plenty of + and - camber adjustment in them .
will be back at the pod for usc at the end of the month for a low 12.
