j500 rst resto

Postby tom9876 on Mon Mar 07, 2011 11:42 pm

had this a couple of years now some people may no it some will not . the plans for are to basically strip it back and start again as i fed up with it breaking the reason for doing it is it has just killed its 5th engine . the car will be going zetec turbo now and im in two minds about the colour wether to keep it as it is or go back to its original colour red .
ill start with some pics of how it was wen i first got it to how it currently looks

Image

Image

on track at fordfair 2009

Image

Image

not long after the engine did this

Image

i then had it back on road and it went through various changes with different wheels and also went through another couple engines on the way and looked like this for a while

Image

Image

Image

and then how it looked for the last few months until the engine decided to die again

Image

so that brings it up to date so to refresh plans then

2.0 zetec turbo only want it to be around 300bhp mark
new suspension as im not a great fan of the avo coilovers fitted they will get put on my si for a bit of fun
and will generally try and replace as many bits as i can afford to do as i go throuh it

will update with some more pics at the weekend when i start stripping it down cheers tom

Looks good buddy altho I can't help but think its going to be a pain in the ass for you to check your water now? Lol love the look of this motor, I have been contemplating a dish steering wheel like that over my RS turbo one is there much difference in feel/size to drive with? IMO I prefer the comps but azev's?? Are nice wheels could just be the angle of the photos, what you doing with the comps? Look forward to more progress :)

i could never check the water level before i painted the tank as there was no window . the steering wheel is a 3inch dish size wise is the same as a normal fez one it just sticks out further . ideally i should have got a 2inch dish. the azez a are off the car and the comps are being refurbed ready to go back on

bit more of a update now engine is all fitted and plumbed in . fuel pump is now fitted seat is all mounted up but it wont start lol it turns over but the fuel pump will not prime at first we thought it was the alarm and imobilizer and when we started looking at the wireing we realized that it was shocking so have now removed the alarm and seen that it was fitted 1992 lol so has done well to last this long . but still no fuel pump so am a bit stumped as to why it will not work but a few more pics
