M Reg 3.5 - Dark Aubergine - WRITTEN OFF!! :'( - Breaking

Postby J-Dee on Mon Nov 19, 2007 2:35 pm

Perfect first car, cheap on insurance, or good to start a project as i was going to (til i ended up getting bored of it being a 1.1!)
Reg - M64 GHT
Colour - Dark Aubergine (sad to see it go cuz i love this colour!)
Engine - Fully standard 1.1, its had no mechanical mods whatsoever
Interior - At current it has full recaro interior but this is for sale in the "part for sale" section so will have standard interior (normal stuff not wingbacks or anything special) Is a very clean car as i like to keep it lookin snazzy :D

Minor mods ive done but arent rele worth mentioning are the smoked side repeaters, ripspeed gear knob with the attention seeking white LEDs.. gift from the ex lol, snazzy rear clusters but i may take these off and put the standard ones back on, buyers choice is valid.. Taken the ford badge off bonnet as i was intending to smooth it but havent got round to it. still have the badge if its wanted, n no im not stingy enough to add to the price for a badge

Has standard steelies (hubcaps only on the back tho as i think speed stole the two front ones :bonkers: , no alloys tho i do have some for sale on same thread as the recaros.

Its done just over 90k, still has a good couple of months at least on the tax.. cant actually remember but will edit when i get home n find out, MoT i think is due soon but can have that done if buyer wants (price covered)
Its got a lot of service history, has been well looked after.
After a silly incident not long after passing my test i had most of the front end rebuilt including new front valance, bonnet, suspension, and more.
All tyres are on good tread
Brakes and clutch were brand new when i bought it about a year n a half ago.
Is a very good runner, has never not started apart from when the immobiliser wouldnt read my key code, therefore stopping it from disarming.. Had it recoded on the original key and never had any trouble since.. Also has 2 spare keys that unlock the door but doesnt start the car (being the div i am used to constantly lock the keys in so this is why theres uncoded spares)
Just had a new driver side wing mirror put on literally a week or 2 ago as some gammon slipper decided to clump mine n take it halfway down the road with them while i was about 2 metres from the car!
Has a mk5 aerial on but intend to put the mk3 one back on unless its particularly wanted.

Now the bad bits.....
Nothing is major, could probably sort it all in a day tops.

Firstly, the exhaust, and some advice..
When you have a little fiesta and a full car, do avoid the speed bumps built for tank in aldershot!
After visiting family down near the army base i got home with my exhaust hangin off the car and tho its still secure i think it needs to go up on a ramp n be shoved back properly as its blowin a bit and looks quite obviously not how it should. still all together just the two bits are comin apart a little. easily solved.

Also, not sure what exactly it is, been told it may be a problem with the gear linkage and could be solved with as little as a washer :-? but basically when its cold the gear stick sometimes pops out of 1st.. no problems with any of the other gears n its only usually when its cold that this happens

Theres some minor bits of rust n a couple of dings from idiots who open their doors too much in car parks but theres no big dents, however there are a few light scratches again from idiot supermarket parkers!

The rear passenger door currently has its window winder on the floor as when i took the doorcard off the sir clip pinged off somewhere into narnia, never to be found, the winders in the car and it works if u put it back on but wont stay on permanently without the clip, will keep falling off.

The door handle on the front passenger door has a tendancy to lock itself so it doesnt always open from the outside and it does get a bit annoying having to keep opening the door for passengers  Think its just the spring in the mechanism needs adjusting but i dont have a lot of spare time on my hands, hence why all these minor things havent been done.

Oh and one more last thing... The rear quarter window on passenger side looks a bit duff as someone decided to smash it to get inside n take my jacket :x
At the time had zero moneys and had to do a quick bodge just to get a window in there and ideally it could do with replacing properly but its still in working order and all secure. Though at the very least u may wanna take off the annoying sticker thats there to remind u what side the petrol caps on!

Pics will be up later tonite as i have some on my computer at home.. will get more detailed ones of the dodgy bits at a later date though as it will probably be pitch black when i get home, not much use!

Looking for offers around 400-600 (preferably the latter :D)
Car is for sale elsewhere and have someone viewing later this week so if you want it be quick! id rather it went to someone off here in honesty as it means it will still be in the community rather than most likely being run into the ground

Also have a 1.2 Vauxhall Nova for sale, may add it to the thread at a later time but lunch break it over now :aaah:

ok, sad to say it but the cars been written off :(
when people tell you you're too sick and too tired to be driving please listen to them.. i didnt and now im feelin the wrath :(

still have the car but its being broken for parts now. engines ok but is only a 1.1 so probs not much use to anyone lol. full standard interior, any doors/windows/etc are available. its also just had a brand new exhaust recently which is probly a good buy for anyone with a 1.1, dont know much about mechanics so dont know if its good for other engine sizes etc? any panels or trims or anything can be taken but being of limited tools you may need to take the stuff off yourself..

easiest way to put it is this...
whole car is available minus the frontend (unless u see something u can salvage)

ill try and get a pic of the damage up and maybe u can tell whats ok and what isnt
its all goin pretty cheap as i dont no prices that well and dont wanna write a whole list of parts  so if its there and u want it its pretty much first to take it gets it.
