Mk1 fiestas
It seems that most people have newer fiestas here. Usually with "euro tails" and general Fast and The Furious-style rubbish fitted to them. So, anybody who owns a Mk1 fiesta, or a normal fiesta which has not been destroyed with "styling"?

As Andy says, most peeps on here have modded cars, although there are a few FRST's etc that have standard bodywork like one here http://www.fiestaturbo.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=25568

Tend to agree. rs motors should be modded with respect. engine and suspension mods and the like are ok, but i think its a shame to ruin the actual look of the car as they already look sweet. I especially hate it when i see that someone has fooked up a series 1 rst with a bodykit/respray in another colour etc

Gotta agree with the series one comment. They should be left as henry said. On the outside anyway

I did`nt mean a stock car. Just a car which hasn`t been destroyed by trend styling and a weighty, un-performance friendly ICE kit. Like the ones posted. Lovely fiestas! My friend has got a completely stock mk1, it spins, drifts, slides and is a general fun-machine. It`s fast too, but that`s because my friend is harsh on the clutch pedal. It`s not a pedal for him; it`s a on/off button! The mk1s are very durable, too. As mentioned my friend is mistreating his, it`s over 30 years old and still runs like aclock!

sphinx: its Strato Silver, one of the only surviving original ford colours. The kit is just a mk1 xr2 which has been sanded and etch primed and colour coded. There is a mk2 xr2 rear spoiler [the window-surround one] which has also been colour coded at the back, delocked pass door and boot, flushed rear valance [no fog/reverse lights] and the front arches have been rolled and the rear arhces cut and spot welded back onto each other to accomodate the 15"s... Also has a aeroquip filler/funnel/tube which was an absolute Bic™ to fit [even the bodyshop wouldnt do it!]
and heres the engine that going in
Should be a fun little 23 year old car

Guys, I'm touched!!
The arches were bolted on with stainless fasteners, and bonded with silkaflex, then smoothed in with P38 etc etc. Hours and hours and hours (get the picture?) of work, but well worth it.
Resprayed in 2pack Sunburst Red, after first priming with Halfords plastic primer spray etc. ANd it has plastic windows, and fibre glass tailgate to reduce weight. Still don't know what the curb weight is, but should be below 800KG's.

Sumink like that! Its flipping quick, and the wheelspin in first is taking some getting used to. Trying to arrange a Friday afternoon bash at Brunters, but it's £50 and hour plus vat and 2 hours minimum.
I may go to the Pod on Sunday if the weathers nice, as its another RWYB, so I can practice my starts and get a feeling for the 1/4 mile time.

May still do just that. A nice project for the winter, wire the lights up. Be fun round the ring road in Leicester then, and the A46'd be a blast!! Only has a 30 litre tank, and 7mpg tends to limit the range to 'just going out for a quick blast love'
Just had a mate on the phone who can book the new Prodrive Track at Cov, so I may be there in a few weekends time. They have a pukka handling circuit.
James-UK, wots the lump in that Mk1. Looks like a Millington Diamond? Any clues?
