my xr2i replica project.
i bought this fiesta 1.1 quartz 1995 for £400 only 50k on the clock.
this is how it looks at the moment:
the plan is to make an xr2i replica, starting with the bodywork.
so far i have:
a set of xr2i alloy wheels (pics soon)
xr2i sideskirts, arches and jacking point covers. (pics soon)
xr2i spoiler (pics soon)
xr2i rear bumper (thanks goes to ben101 for giving it to me)
i need:
a front bumper with or without foglights (preferably with).
lowering springs preferably 35mm
if you have any of the above dont hesitate to let me know im willing to travel if the price is right
what im going to do:
im going to keep the car red but get rid of any rust and repaint it the same colour
im going to refurbish all the body parts and wheels, paint them the same colour as the car and attach them all up.
thnaks for looking....keep watching this thread for progress.
UPDATE: the car is now being stripped down e.t.c and work has begun
here is a picture of the car with the rear bumper on (couldt resist sticking it on and seeing what it looks like )

If you put the update as a new post rather than editing the original post its much easier to follow.

Re: my xr2i replica project.
I've done the same as you mate (replica). Started with a 1.1, added the kit, complete respray, mondeo wheels. ive been looking at getting xr2i wheels as well, but not sure yet. Need to see what mine is like once it's been lowered first. Trying to find a good price for springs and a spoiler atm!

Re: my xr2i replica project.
nice to hear im not the only one doing this
you might as well ge tthe wheels, if you look hard enough you can get them really cheap, mine where £25 with good tyres.
you can get a set of springs off ebay for about £60, well worht the investment....no point in making your car look like an xr2i but being to high off the ground.
im bidding on some recaro seats on ebay...hope i win them
by the time this cars back on the road i intened there to be no rust at all on it

Re: my xr2i replica project.
yea the wheels don't seem too expensive tbh . gotta wait till my bday before i can get the springs though (only 2 months now )
yea i had a bit rust too , along the door sills and arches (quickly sorted by my dad haha:)). i've been looking at getting the recaro interior, but not on my list of priorities atm! spoiler and lowering first! should have an exhaust sorted out, but not 100% yet .
How much did u get your spoiler for mate?
