WTF! my diesel engine was dodgy, take a look at pics!

cant believe it, i knew the engine numbers didnt match up, but gave a closer look and realised this was stuck on! look at the old engine numbers they have been stamped out by "X", i can work out the numbers behind and they stil dont match my cars engine number!

It's not to illegal to stick a plate over some thing as long as it not welded in and the number's under are still intacted and not stolen

Not a lot as long as it not stolen and then i doubt they will do any thing as it was a long time ago and the insurance company would of payed out long time ago and will not want the engine in the car park :lol:

that dunt look too good but at least you can find the engine number, i cant lol , mines a 1.6si and cant find it

Why's it dodgy? You can make an engine number up yourself, the head might have been swapped, all sorts of reasons. As far as I know Ian Howell stamps his own engine numbers on any he builds, nothing dodgy about it.
