as i know from my old engine its not about how much power that the spec will mak its how much power can things like the clutch and gearbox take.
also have you got a tubualer and custom inlet?

All depends on what boost you can and will run and what CR you have! 2.x bar? I'd guess anything from about 370 to 440bhp.

stage 2+ MTX75...may soon have a plate diff if i find the ATB doesnt cope well enough
Clutch is an AP Racing Focus RS Paddle clutch for now...want to see how it copes and take it from there...i think a twin plate might be on order if it dont like it lol
yes custom inlet and exhaust from Ian Howell
heeman...i know the comp but not saying what it is...and i have a feeling the engine will consume everything the turbo can throw at it

Who's dynoing it?
I know I keep saying it but it really does make a huge difference to the figure you see.
On a proper dyno on high boost I would expect to see maybe 320bhp quite possibly more.

To reach full duty cycle you will have to run about 700bhp

380bhp. but cracking the 400 mark would be great.
but power isnt everything. IH's engines are good for making mega torque figures

i havent really asked Ian to be honest...and i built the engine alongside Vulcan Engineering i have always said i wanted 350hp so i will be happy with that...anything more is a bonus..
just seeing what you all think the engine will do...i might add a slight twist to the equation later

i must of missed something t34? this will hold you back from hitting the 400bhp mark which your engine is well capable of Exciding could Possibly do 400 on the dyno but the turbo would be on its knees.

The proper turbo was ditched in the last week or two. Shame, but it can always be slapped on later I'm sure What have you done with yours since the day at SCC Sean? I completely forgot to call you the following day Sounded as though you were going to be busy anyway..

hi m8
yeah was busy on sunday i ran the car at the performance ford daddy thrash really good day never pushed the car that hard, ended up destroying my head gasket at times i was running 31psi silly me hit the rev limiter using nitrous which is a big no no so i did'nt expect it to last.. so on my shopping list is a wideband 02 & egt gauge not cheap but its a must, and a bigger turbo exhaust housing going from 0.64 to 0.84 i'll have to get christmas out of the way first...

Poor car! I hope it's nothing but the head gasket, sounds like it got a right hammering! Any times to report?

Somewhere in the 350bhp mark. The T34 will be going to be the limiter factor... why not go GT30R for a little more bhp with less lag or even GT35R for more bhp with the same T34 lag?
I know this new GT-R turbos are expensive!

You can go GT3076R with .63 A/R ex housing and will give you 380bhp or so with less 1700rpm lag then the old T34.
The GT3582R with .63 A/R ex housing will get you 400bhp minimum! With this one... .82 A/R ex housing unleashes high rpm power
Of course, the rest of your engine MUST be specced to coupe with this numbers...

Also...
buy the next PF mag issue... january 2007... there's a good article regarding the new T34R by turbo dynamics and it's dyno tested on a YB and also compared to the old T34 with .63 A/R ex housing.

thanks bassboy
top speed runs are gooooooooo but i need to do more i cant wait for next year so many big power fwd fords should be ready. i'm going to order my uprated driveshafts, and i have just found out how to setup my boost controller to have a different pressure per gear. i'll also have to speak to bernie to gain my top speed i have to drop my final drive to suit the engine. he is always going on about how the standard 3.82 final drive suits the engine Characteristics but it does'nt suit mine.
by the way bassboy what would a t70 turbo be like on my car i can get hold of one very cheap, only done a few hundred miles comes off a famous cosworth.

turboboss : i have just found out how to setup my boost controller to have a different pressure per gear.
Don't you use a Turbosmart eBoost controller? I wasn't aware of them being gear-mappable? Quality if it is, that'll sort all sorts of problems and make you a damn sight better off the line no doubt! Bet it'll only need about 8psi in first then you can be away and on the move! Good news about the driveshafts
It's funny you say that about the big power FWD Fords coming out next year. I was reeeeeeeally looking forward to the summer and tail end of this year, there seemed to be at least four 600+bhp Escort Cosworths in the final stages of completion a few months ago, but hardly any have surfaced
