That was Simon following in the support car in case we had a breakdown on the way back (we have that much confidence in it at the moment! ).
He's taking it into his work this week for me to get all the last bits sorted and a general service before mapping
Cheers,
Andy

You are the master of poo vids these days aren't you?! Forklift trucks driving around at night, now 1.3 Fiestas with TURBOWHISTLE fitted to the exhaust!
I'd be wary of over-spooling if you don't have any boost pipes attached

It's ok, both me and Simon know not to drive the accelerator down hard otherwise overspool will occur - it's fine. The overfuelling is an issue though as the turbo's exhaust housing gets way too hot!

Took a crap picture of the car last night before I drove it for the first time!
Then today when I went to get something from Simon's workshop I spotted this cheeky fella parked out in the street!
I think my phone's camera lens needs a clean!
More updates later this week (Pro Alloy intercooler fitted, Alcon 6 paddle clutch fitted and a few other bits ).
Cheers,
Andy

Hi dude,
Yeah I am really pleased at the moment - the car will be ready to take to Grove by the weekend hopefully, going to give them a call tomorrow.
Cheers,
Andy

It's on coilovers - not sure what it's lowered by at the moment as it's still set for Cossie rims, will adjust that before taking it up to Grove Garage for mapping
Got some pictures of the car with the intercooler on now, I need to mesh up the hole in the bottom of the bumper so you can't see all the cutting that's taken place to the bodywork underneath!
Will look nice when it's all finished and the car's all cleaned up
I know Max and a few others will probably hate it but I think it looks really purposeful now, and should definitely deliver lower ACTs
Cheers,
Andy

Max M4X WW ::P Cant it sit lower down
I'm afraid not - if you cut any more bodywork away it won't 'sit' on anything.
This is the reason that heeman10 decided against it and went with the Radtec (which he's now found the same problem with ) - I'm happier to compromise looks slightly over performance.
Trust me - it will look alot better with the bottom hole meshed up, the great thing is if I get bored with it and want to cover it up I only have to reposition the number plate!
Cheers,
Andy

Andy.. thats not sitting straight... the cores should be dead vertical and the top parallel with the bumper.....did you cut out the lower valence??

The lower valance has been cut yeah - drastically! (it's not really there anymore!).

Thanks - I'm running an XR2i rad as well as my FRST one was quite badly damaged with the turbo being off so many times!
The car is going to get mapped up pretty much as it is now as it's not running right at all (Cossie management fitted and everythings out of whack).
I can't drive the thing any great distances at all until that's been done as it's overfuelling madly!
Cheers,
Andy

The work on the car isn't shonky, and neither is the intercooler - it's just that with the different radiator and T3 setup I have had to have alot of the valance cut to sit that properly, which in turn means that the intercooler doesn't sit where it normally would. I think all that's needed is for a lug to be welded onto the cross member to hold the intercooler up, but for now it works without any boost leaks and that's good enough for mapping which is my short term aim
I'll probably try and get it done myself - I think it will cost me over £70 to drive to you and back once it's been mapped up!
Cheers,
Andy

Thanks - if you could take a look at some more in depth pics of the arrangement underneath to help with raising it (looks like the driver's side needs to be raised about half an inch if that) to get it level I'll get my mate Simon to weld it in* - he's pretty handy when it comes to that kind of thing, the work he's done so far has been top notch (and I'm not saying that because he's a friend)!
Cheers,
Andy
* I'm talking about a lug on the car, not welding anything to your beautifully made product!

I'm really sorry Andy, but I can't say I like it I've spoken to Wayne about the aesthetics of the intercooler, so he knows what I think anyway! I'm in no doubt as to its cooling capabilities, but I couldn't live with that look on my car.
My cooler will be fine Andy, it just needs mounts moving, pipes moving and it'll sit about 3-5mm below the top of the bumper (top of bumper remains uncut) and will fill the enlarged cutout on my second bumper with no edges to be seen, and a little overlapping around the sides. It is a twin pass, but gave less than 1psi pressure drop compared to the single pass coolers GET IT MAPPED!

Fair enough!
I couldn't give a s**t what anyone else thinks - I quite like it and I think it's going to be great fun when mapped
Built for me, driven by me

Looks and sounds great mate.
Re. the intercooler - it's your shout but I thought I'd post this idea for the benefit of the pro alloy bloke.
When you've made the tapered inlet/outlet reservoirs (whatever you call em lol) could you not then put a second shell over the top of it? One which basically runs parallel to the cores and is a purely aesthetic addition, outside the actual functioning tapered one.
edit: I "rendered" this in a "CAD" program.
