Homepage converted to XHTML / CSS layout

Postby AdrianFRST on Fri Dec 30, 2005 10:41 pm

I've spent this afternoon and evening converting the homepage of the site from the 5 year old tables based HTML 4 to an XHTML Strict CSS layout.

It should load a lot faster now but look pretty much the same - I corrected a few alignment issues. I'll do the other pages later on.

I've tested it on IE6, Firefox 1.5, Flock, Safari 2.0 and Omniweb and it looks fine. It even looks ok in IE5 Mac and Opera 6 Mac.

If anything appears screwed up hit refresh and if it's still not right then let me know and I'll have a look.

Good. God.

That really takes some knowledge - kudos to you.

Missed this thread until Mixon pointed it out, and as the CSS isn't working at the moment, I can't really say well done

But I've tried doing this with sites I've worked on and I find it an absolute nightmare to get right with the whole 'degrading nicely' stuff! So once the CSS is back, no doubt I'll be impressed :)

I hope you don't mind if I have a good look through the XHTML and CSS once it's all working again? :bonkers:
