Very interested in this idea too.

I'm betting my AP 4-Pots will need a bigger master cylinder to operate at their best ;-)

All info appreciated.
Matt.

was simple i looked round scrap yards at mk 5 servos and cylinders and found the van one to have bigger servos which will assist it better. the van one is obviously larger due to the weight in the back of the van.

all i had to do is drill two holes in the mounting panel because the studs are ofset slightly. I shortend the link bar by 20mm. re shaped the hoses a bit all fittings were the same their are four outlets on the master cylinder same as on the fiesta one.

it took me about 20 mins

tools used 10 mm drill bit.
hack saw
mig welder.

i have escort cossie rear calipers and 270mm vented disks the front has willwood four pots and 285 disks. It has improved the braking and works alot better with the calipers. I have also fitted a bias valve to limit the back brakes a bit.

total mod cost 20 quid!!!

not sure, last mondy i saw had a tiny stuby little master cylinder and a massive servo, im pretty sure a fiesta master cylinder wouldn bolt on a mondy servo, unless some1 knows different

Well, i've got a mondeo master cyclinder and servo here, so if anyone has a good picture of a 2i master cyclinder i'll say if it'll fit!

However, can't the mondeo master cyclinder be used aswell? :-?

Re: ABS

Not all Mondeo's had ABS... After digging my servo out from the shed it has a normal style master cylinder :Q

You need the pin on the end too like this

Image

And as far as sjh's instructions go, yes you drill into the mount and not into the servo. If you did I think you would find it might not work too well

Mine is booked in next tuesday for fitment :D

The hardest part is getting a decent quality servo unit etc from a Escort, tis a bugger to get out.

Well I got my Mondeo V6 brakes on, but the brake cylinder wont be done until next Thursday

I cant wait until it's done. With the new calipers my brake pedal goes halfway down before it even starts to bite. And with the new pads and discs the braking effect is frankly rubbish

I hope these pads sort themself out soon!!

Thats the only thing done today, the new brake cylinder and servo wont be fitted until next Thursday now

Still, it should be wicked once it's done and all bedded in. I'm on a mission now to get rear discs also.

Well when you do get the Master cylinder sorted, there is a 200% improvement, and you do have to watch how hard you hit the pedal, the bite is that great and is right at the top. Mine is anyway.
