Or not
Did you ever stop to think that some people might prefer the look of the five door over a three door?
Also theres another reason why i NEED a five door, but its kind of personal so i wont go into it

My engine? How rude, just cause you did most of the work doesnt mean its going to break....well actually Anyways, its just got to last till ive finished the bodywork (ages ) and then i can go Zetec
FezzR :how u gonna do the arches? u gonna stick the whole width to the door or u gonna cut it hight wise too?
After THREE failed attempts I found THE best way was to forget about the door to start with. Get the arch all self tappered on top and bottom so the door dont open. Then use Tigerbond to stick the arch to the door, using g-clamps and the self tappers to keep it in place.
Then once its dry, remove all the screws and you left with the arch stuck perfectly in place to just the door. Which means, now you can cut the arch very close to the door top and bottom, then screw the top and bottom pieces back in place and you are left with an extreamly tight gap around the door piece and it will rub when you close the door. Then all thats left to do is sand the edges down VERY slightly so that it doesnt rub, leaving you with the best fit ever
Then just Tigerbond the top and bottom pieces in place to make them secure, and repeat on the other side
I found the best method of cutting was to use a hacksaw and aim for a straight line. All my previous attempts involved using a stanley and trying to follow the line of the door, which was impossible and ended up looking sh!t and leaving massive gaps
Also make sure that you leave atleast 1 (preferably 2) weeks between each step Otherwise it will feel much too much like hard work and progress I found the weather is a good excuse Either its too cold or its too hot
Ignore the half hanging out self tappers and the overspill of Tigerbond Picture was taken before i was finished playing But thats what my gaps of the rear door look like close up, and if you look at the pics at the top of the page you'll see that the gap is hardly noticable So to say im happy with the result is a slight understatement

just wondering what happened to this 5door now? as im thinking about getting a 5 door (to do up of course). but wondering is it worth trying to stick on my aftermarket fiberglass skirts and arches to it and cuttin out the rear door bit... as i had a failed attempt already at stickin em on and that pissed me off
