I currently have a 1.8 Zetec bottom end sitting in my shed which I am thinking about fitting to my Fiesta RST as I have burn a hole in one of the pistons of my 110k old 1.6 CVH bottom end.

The Zetec bottom end is out of a 16v XR2i, would I just need the decompression plate for a 1.8 Zetec to bolt this onto my FRST head?

It has a Superchip (previous to blowing up it was running 182bhp at the flywheel) with a T2 turbo (14psi) and has now got a Pace chargecooler fitted.

If I was to have this conversion done - would you recommend that I get the engine completely remapped with a bigger turbo, fuel pump, esc cos MAP and bigger injectors? What kind of mapping could I use?

Sorry for so many questions!

Cheers,

Andy

Hi Phil,

My friend is planning a 2000cc ZVH to a FRST along side my Zetec turbo conversion and he's interested in your plate, he will probably be having a water pump late off you for definate, but he has some questions regarding the decompression plates, and i thought i'd ask them here cause other people will be bound to be thinking the same things.
His question are along the lines of-
How thick are the plates and what compression ratio will it give (approx)? He plans to use a hybrid T25 running no more than 16psi i believe.
Do you use two head gaskets or do you only use one and seal the plate to the head some other way (as http://www.zetec-turbo.co.uk suggests)?
If he ordered a plate roughly how long between ordering is dispatch, are they off the shelf for example?
Any hardwear (nuts, bolts, washers etc) included with any off the plates?

Also, if you want me to try and get you those con rod bolts let me know, a trip is being organised quite soon i'm told

Thanks very much for you help

Matt
