Power Cable from battery through dash

Postby haroldsacks on Wed Jul 07, 2004 1:01 pm

Hello,

I am trying to wire up my 300W amp. I will be placing the amp either under one of the seats or in the boot. I have a Fiesta mk3 si.

My problem is hooking up the power supply. The power cable hooks up directly to the battery. I cannot find a way of threading the power cable through the front of the cabin, i.e. through the dash board, how have other people over come this? It has been suggested that i drill through, is there a particular place that this is easiest.

Cheers for any help

Take the wire arounf the engine bay, like so: (Red wire)

And on that side there is a big rubber gromit, get it thru there and keep pushing it and it should appear down in the footwell (you may have to put your hand up the gap above the footwell and pull it thru).

Then run it straight down the side of the car to the boot, or bring it out from under the cover next to the seat and mount your amp there.

Hope this helps.
