Ford Fair was huge. Massive. Expansive. Certainly the biggest ever. There’s stacks of photos to post over the coming weeks, categorised as usual, but by way of an introduction to this year’s show here’s an initial selection of cars that don’t fit into the Fiesta/Focus/Cosworth/Old School banding.

We’ll start with this Ka on air.

There aren’t many Racing Pumas around these days and certainly not  many that are as clean as this one, except perhaps the one directly behind it.

I thought at first this might be an ex works Escort but looking closer I don’t think it is. The wheels and tyres are wrong, as is the rear spoiler. the roll cage looks too modern as well.

This first generation Mustang certainly stood out in a sea of modern Focuses. I wonder if Ford had any idea back then…

…That 50 years later the Mustang would still be going strong? This one was on the Mountune stand so I guess it’s the Ecoboost version. This was the only one there and a left hooker. Maybe next year we’ll see a few more?

I love pickup trucks and this monochrome double cab ranger looked as tough as nails sitting under these trees. It looked plenty sizeable next to the cars around it.

Although a proper US spec truck like this F-150 made it look tiny. The number plate was a nice touch.

If you dislike originality then the Electric Orange ST Owners Club is for you! According to their Facebook group, they have over 1100 members. That’s a lot of orange.

Maybe the cheery outlook of the Electric Orange ST Owners Club is too much for you? Prefer the dark and the glum? Or maybe just dislike sloppy parking? Then the Panther Black ST Owners Club should be your first port of call. 

This rusty looking van is in fact a wrap. From a distance it looked quite convincing but the resolution of the print gave the game away as soon as you got anywhere close.

With its twin headlights and brightly coloured cage this car reminds me a little of the old Project 2000 Escort Max Power did way back in the 90s.

Ford had roped in Russ Swift to entertain the crowds with a stunt show. Having been doing this since the early 80s Russ has kind of got the hang of things by now and demonstrated this by…

…handbraking it into a space between two parked cars…

…doing something similar but in parallel, with an increasingly small gap…

…and driving around on two wheels.

Despite his experience things don’t always go to plan. Putting the car down a little too late after a two wheel excursion caused a slight bump into the back of this ST.
