I know the subject is lame but i cant afford to insure a xr2i or anything better at my age, is there anything i can do which will make a differance as a K&N makes a nice sound if u can hear it over the tappets and uses s**t loads more fuel.
Really have no idea what else i could do which would be worth it, i know the replys i get might be get a new car etc, which i am in jan but i cantt be doing with the slowness of my car :)

Cheers Dan

Really mate dont bother. Anything you buy is wasted money you could use towards a more powerful engine (1.1? )

I have a 1.0 HCS, checked and reset the tappets. Easy job, just need a haynes manual, feeler gauges, a 19mm and 13mm spanner (i think those right sizes).

I did an oil change too, and that made mine a bit quieter, so that may help too.
