Re: 1.1 azura has arrived moddifying begins
That steering wheel should fit mate, i fitted one to a mk3.5. I had to use the mk3 cowling though or ive seen the 3.5 cowling trimmed down to allow it to be fitted.
Looks like a good base to start with though

Re: 1.1 azura has arrived moddifying begins
yeah the cowling was one problem but i could have trimed it.
but the teeth on the back for the steering lock (well the diameter of that part is totally different, much smaller diameter on the 3 spoke)
not to worry anyway as the standard wheel is nice
ive put the 3 spoke back on ebay

Re: 1.1 azura has arrived moddifying begins
just fitted my boot spoiler but too dark to take a pic now
had no gromits for the outer screws so put a bit of filler in and painted satin black
also on this 1.1 model ive been told the plugs are likely to snap off in the head, i got the car off my dad hes had it 4 years and had the plugs done when he got it, hes not done many miles at all, the plugs look very rusty where the thread is and ive sprayed wd40 and blown/scraped the flakeing rust away and now soaked engine oil around them.
but darn t try to remove them
i might do all the other service stuff and think about the plugs for a while??

Re: 1.1 azura has arrived moddifying begins
if ur going to take the plugs out matey nip them UP a little tiny bit first trust me i know it sounds stupid but i done 3 helicoils on my old 1.3 untill my uncle told me this trick , do it up so it only just moves then undo it smoothly and you should be fine

Or if the plugs do snap, dig all the porcelain stuff out so just the threads are left in the head, then smack a big spline or torx bit down and wind the threads out. Works every time for me

I'm going to try and fit the Mk3 column and see what happens!

Re: 1.1 azura has arrived moddifying begins
i fitted a Rs three spoke wheel to my mk4, same case, if your prepared to lose your airbag rock on, you will need a mk3 (not 3.5) non airbag cowlings and steering lock, its a bit stiff, but will knock off with some strength

Re: 1.1 azura has arrived moddifying begins
the plug on the back of the clocks plugged straight in and everything worked APART from REV counter
i added 1 x wire from the edis unit (green wire ((2nd wire in) straight to the back of the rev counter (number 10 on the plug) and it works

Would it not have been better to paint the arches before you out them on?

Re: 1.1 azura has arrived moddifying begins
just quickly posting this on here maybe shouldnt really but want a quick reply
my gear change going down gears seems to be hard to engage 2nd gear (you can really feel it going in, especially at higher revs)
what about if i try ajusting the gear linkage and checking oil level
and are the gear linkages easy to check, do they wear out, anything i need to look out for?
cheers dave
ps instead of taking this post up pm me if you have any advice tips
