ive just bought some sports shockers, the rears are adjustable, the fronts shorter than standard, ive got the rears on with my -60mm springs and now its as low as when i had chopped springs, just need to buy some front -60mm springs now,

Re: 1.1 azura has arrived
heres the new sports shox
look close the rear cups can be moved up down, theres a clip like a piston ring, with a alloy sleeve which slides down over it holding it in place, then the cup sits on that.
this is how low it is with my (rusty second hand 60mm springs which i paid about £6 off ebay for)
the front is still standard shox with chopped springs (only until i buy some 60mm front springs)
this is the same 60mm springs on standard shox, the ones i was on about earlier in my thread/or post on susspension
other bits ive done, i addapted this battery cover to fit, not sure what its off, i found it on the floor at the scrap yard
my locking bonnet pins

feel the same as dan im afraid, silly things like that its pointless skimping, do them right
that battery cover its for a bigger car like a capri, sierra or transit, the smaller ones are easily available, even new from ford for a pittance!
and them bonnet locks look illegal and hard to open
again proper ones are cheap enough

That's the difference between Mk3 and Mk3.5 rear shocks. They will be made like that so the manufacturer doesn't have to produce a different shock for each model.

Re: 1.1 azura has arrived
was that russian or english backwards?
i hope ive never offended you, i know ive said something may not look right to me, but i just hope ive not gone further
what i do believe in though is that if someone is to insist on having a lairy and outspoken looking car, is that they atleast have the mechanics to support it, if you fit a scooby vent to a 1.1 engined car, its just daft imo
so basically, im asking are you keeping the 1.1 or is it going to evolved into something a bit more powerful?

posting that RS just backups what i said, its a powerful turbo'd car, yours has 54bhp, in reality it cant utilize a vent like that
wouldnt bother with a 1.3, if you want to be different why not try and fit a mk1 XR2 kent engine, 86bhp, more tunability then a 1.3 and very different!

Re: 1.1 azura has arrived
I'm going to be a complete arse here, so either skip this comment or read it, it's up to you.
The reason you don't get any good feedback about the car is because it looks ruined, mainly on the outside. It's like chive central.
The things that let it down massively are, chrome floor matts, fuel flap sticker, the poor attempt at the bonnet vents, the stick on bonnet pin things, the mentally big exhaust tip, and now you are going to add a scooby vent? It's just a mess.
The car has good potential if it wasn't so poorly modified.
I honestly believe if you took off the bonnet, put an FRST bonnet on it, got rid of the fuel filler cap 'racing' sticker, and lost the sun strip and downsided that exhaust tip, it would actually look fairly decent!
Also, all that upside down text doesn't help. Nor your attitude towards things, but with that attitude I have no reason to suspect the car would look like that even without seeing it. And the attitude doesn't help to getting good feedback either.
The difference with the car you just linked is the fact it actually looks half decent, and has had a lot of time and effort put in to it. Plus back in 2007 when that was a show winner, that's how cars were modified. I can bet a lot of people wouldn't like that today, but they would appreciate the effort and work gone into it because it's not a compete mess and a bodge.
At the end of the day, if you like your car and are happy with it, that's all that matters isn't it? But don't go bitching when people tell you it looks crap. People won't have the same taste as you, and opinions will vary massively as everyone is in to something different.
Sorry for the bitching essay of a reply but it had to be said

Re: 1.1 azura has arrived
im with danny mate, sorry.
you have to man up - the ammount of s**t ive had and had to put up with over my cars and choices (mainly from jony )
its not about being unique, its about you making what started off as a sound little fiesta xr2 look alike, turn into a completely s**t looking 17 year old boy racers car from 1998.
its a forum, if you take every bit of bad press and let it bother you - forums arnt for you. this forum is a hell of a lot friendlier than others based around our marques trust me. you can still get yourself involved and hopefully not feel the need to post more rants! theres 1000's of threads on here you can take inspiration from with regards to mods.
dont have to be a sheep, just dont be silly
(this wasnt meant to offend, my two cents.)

very honest reply i respect that
can i point out the bonnet pins are real ones not stick on!
im not keen on the fact you say my car looks sh!t
after reading this mornings reply's
so what if im still stuck in the 90s boy racer style type look
my car my choice
i just have never been really welcomed on this forum
maybe i am on the wrong forum
the upside down writing was to get a reaction which it obviously did
apart from the fact my vents are raised higher than a rs turbo i really dont see how or why any of you can say how they look so sh!t im really missing that point
ive got 2 close friends who are well in to fords they both like the vents and both say its a very neat tidy job
and after comments on here ive asked them do you honestly think ive done a good job do they look good
they still answer yes
i think some of you lot are too far up your own ar$e to see the real world and how people are different
i havnt ruined the fiesta at all every thing ive done like bonnet vents matts fuel flap spoiler morettes stickers etc can be taken off and replaced with standard in less than 1 hour, i still have all standard bits, to replace every thing
matts ruined it FFS
friendly forum not a chance
theres about 3 people on here talk to me they know who they are and i thank them for being friendly towards me
