if you want more poke but still cheap insurance , go for the 1.4 cvh. pretty sure the swap wont cause any headaches if you swap everything, fuel tank, fuel lines etc.

hope this helps a little.

I know the 1.3 engine is a straight swap and I found after driving a 1.1 and a 1.3 that the 1.3 does have abit more to it, nothing impressive, but it is noticable.

Just put a 2.0 in (had to say it before someone else did  )

i used to have the same problem with my puney old 1.1, but instead of changing the engine, me n my dad spent a couple of weeks stripping it down and re-building it, grinding in the valves, replacing god knows whats, then sent it to the local mechanic for a bit of tuning, and it came back with a top speed of 112mph when id be lucky to get 95 out of it before we started!

putting better brakes on allows you to go faster, me and my mate just getting 95 everytime out of his 1.1 on a long straight!, but having to brake really early for the roundabout!

OK I'm a bit drunk and it's 4 in the morning in Southamerica so I hope I can explain what I'm thinking. The first fiesta that came to Argentina was the Mk 3.5 1.4liter, so we never saw the 1.1 and the 1.3 and this is what I think. If the engine block from the 1.1 and the 1.3 are the same then I would change the crankshaft for a 1.3 liter engine and then have the original engine numbers but with a littel more donkies under the hood  You will certanly need to take the block for a very slightly cilinderwall rectify so the pistonrings can get a proper seal.

That's all fallks. Have a nice sunday
