Postby jossyboy on Mon Jun 07, 2004 6:19 pm

i'm wanting to replace my shocks on my mk3, 1.1 lx, jreg, with shocks from an XR2i or FRST, then fit lowering springs preferably spax or g-max. can anyone tell me if this is possible and any problems i might encounter, thanks in advance for your help guys

you should be fine if you use the shocks off a frst or 2i, but the si shocks are to big to fit in the hubs :( as i have found out

As Robin says, if you plan on going lower than 35mm, it's time for shorter dampers too. Mk3 XR2i and FRST dampers will fit. I have a set of four XR2i struts for sale for £20 plus postage.

Ok, well PM me if you do want them. I'd guess postage would be maybe another £20 or something if you couldn't collect. Most 8v XR2is had base model ride height (which is the same as the shocks I have for sale) but are gas shocks rather than the oil shocks found on the base models. All (I think) the 16v XR2is sat 25mm lower than the base model Fiesta, and some of the later 8v's I think, and of course, the RS Fiestas. Just so ya know :)

Yeah, though remember Mk3.5 suspension won't fit a Mk3.

Yours is a Mk3, with those square mirrors and square indicators.
