prepare for flaming. Best ask this sort of question on the max power forum me thinks!
If your seriouse about more power, look at the puma frp transplant. Lots of power, cheaper than a turbo conversion and i would have though alot more power. Failing that, stick a 1.6 lump in and turbo that. No point in keeping the 1.25, as it will need to come out anyway, so start off with something that will get more power at the end.
I have seen one or 2 turbo'd 1.25, and tbh I just laugh!

Just because I keep talking about definetly doing it doesn't mean I'm actualy going to do it.

I think it's interesting to be honest, I think its easy to forget what its like when you're starting out. I planned to turbo my 1.1 for experience but decided against it due to it being the early 3 bearing crank.
Any engine you choose to turbocharge can be a worthwhile base for learning how it all works
I agree with the general concencus though in that if you're purely after more power and not a project, go for the Puma engine.

Was that the 1117cc HCS as opposed to the 1118cc? Because that's what mine was and I seem to have a feeling it's the earlier one also...

It's been a while since I worked on anything HCS mate, so unfortuantely can't give you a definite answer.

yeah soz have to admit its a bit too far i suppose for a small engine but there really arent many so i wanted to try something more unique, and there are a lot of pumestas, so its like id be joining on with them, gettin in with the crowd like
plus dont forget insurance on a 1.7 upgrade aint gonna be cheap neither! but i just thought id try and get more info, if its that bad ill stick with natural aspiration till i can afford otherwise

yes but if you dropped a standard puma engine in it would be cheaper than to modify the one youve got now
