1.3 HCS Gearbox

Postby Bluesrocks on Thu Feb 15, 2007 3:14 am

Mk3.5 Compleatly standard Fiesta 1.3 HCS

3rd And 4th Gears Dont always engage properly, Think its the syncro-mesh cones giving up. How hard are these to replace? how much do they cost roughly if they are replaceable?

Alternatively, What other gearboxes fit the engine/car. for example would the gearbox fit from a similar engined escort. Are the ratios any different? Would like something that has more top end as spend most of my time in the car driving down motorways and would like to be able to do outside lane speeds with out having to hold the engine at 4000+ revs for hours at a time (im sure its not doing anything any good......)

all help apreciated

Cheers

Nick
