What is commonly used here in Argentina (we are still on the stoneage :bonkers:  ) is an extra inyector on the top of the pressurisation manifold (I´ll ad a pic of the before mentioned manifold so you can understand what I´m talking about) that is comanded by a pressure diaphragm (spelling) So when you are on the upper RPM range you have the necessary fuel so the combustion doesn't get lean and you melt a piston. This inyector only works on the upper range, when the engine is idling or in the middle RPM range it's swithced off

I'll add the picture in a couple of minutes

This is for an IDF carburator
Image
Image

And this is for a car that had SPI and they changed ir for a carb but it is the same that you could use because of the design of the FORD SPI that is very similar to a carb. This one doesn't have the inyector I mentioned but I couldn't find any with it. I'll continue searching

Hope this gives you an idea[/img]

At the end of the day, the HCS is only a ponced up emissions friendly OHV motor, and there's OHV's out there pounding 150bhp+ and then some, and then you add forced induction on top. Good old 1760cc monsters :aviator:

Are you going to attempt to lower the compression at all?

If so, how were you thinking of doing it? Spacer plate? Or a second head gasket or something?

Max M4X WW :Why dont you do it all proper and try and make it work for longer than a week?

because the cost isnt worth it, at the moment im only going to have to buy

some pipe work
gasket
management - which ill continue to use on other projects anyway

i was tempeted to lower compression, until i found out it was already 8.8:1
ill deside nearer the time of bolting the head back on, i was planning on using one of those funky copper head gaskets, which are thicker anyway, and there is plenty or material in the combustion chamber that can be removed if i want.

Can't wait to see this finished mate. I wanted to buy a HCS fiesta a little while back to have a play with turbo set-up on one. Good luck mate, even if it produces in the region of 100bhp, it'd pretty good for an engine that weighs as much as a breeze block

Christ, I don't fancy the state of your inlet valve seat on that cylinder you've done. BTW are you sure you should have ground away ALL of the combustion chamber shroud?

Image

Either I'm mistaken or that's a longitudinal engine... is it RWD? Also, what engine IS it?

That is a Volkswagen Gol (not Golf) engine. That car is FWD. The picture was just to show how easy it is to attach a turbo to a carbed engine

No mate, that's an Volkswagen AP (Alta performance = High Performance) engine which could be 1.6, 1.8 or 2.0, but I'm preety sure it could be a 1.6/1.8 block with the 2.0 crankshaft so it should be a 1.9 liter engine. The AP engine is allmost impossible to destroy. Plain standard without doing anything an AP engine can handle 600gram. boost without any problem (of course you have to match the fueling on the upper rpm range)

The 1.0 liter engine is the volkswagen AT (Alta Tecnologia = High Technology) engine
