1.4 8v to XR2i 8v???
should this be a straight swap?
car is a 1.4 Si at the mo, engine will be coming out for new sump and cam.
i can get an XR2i lump complete for about the same price so im considering firing that in
will my gear box work with it?
and is the clutch bigger in the 1.6?
also i read on the site that the xr2i 8v produces 110bhp! is that right?
Cheers Neil

Engine and gearbox are a direct swap but you need the wireloom 2 and the ecu because the 1.4 is a singlepoint injection and the XR2I a multipoint
Cluths is bigger and yes the 1.6 has 110bhp if you have the one without cat otherwise you got 105bhp

Dunno for sure if the 1.4 is multipoint injection
If you lift the airfilterbox and it looks like a carb you have singlepoint
Efi means electronic fuel injection and is used in most ford after 1990
If you use the gearbox of a XR2I and the engine you know that the clutch is about 20 mm bigger then the 1.4(at least it was when i had a 1.4)

The Si is multipoint EFI injection. Same as the 1.4 Escort of around the same year.
