1.4 cvh enigine

Postby richlal on Sun May 13, 2007 3:11 pm

hi there
im thinking about doing a engine conversion

what would be the most simple?

thinking 1.6 cvh (xr2i?)or 1.8cvh (sierra, escort?) and putting twin carbs on and rebuild it.

what would this involve.

the gear box from the same engine car.
uprated brakes.
421 manifold, whole exsast system for the engine.
would i have to change my engine mounts or wiring loom.

any help would be much appriciated

The XR2i engine uses the same gear box as the late 1.4CVH EFI, not sure about the older CFI engines.

I believe the sierra CVH is a more difficult conversion. not 100% sure on this but I think there is an issue with the cooling system. the coolant flows the wrong way on the 1.8 or somthing like that.

can anyone confirm?
