1.4 cvh enigine
hi there
im thinking about doing a engine conversion
what would be the most simple?
thinking 1.6 cvh (xr2i?)or 1.8cvh (sierra, escort?) and putting twin carbs on and rebuild it.
what would this involve.
the gear box from the same engine car.
uprated brakes.
421 manifold, whole exsast system for the engine.
would i have to change my engine mounts or wiring loom.
any help would be much appriciated

1.6 CHV from XR2i would be the easiest and give an instant 108bhp with about 130bhp possible for sensible outlay. The 1.8 Sierra CVH isn't suitable and teh 1.8 used in the Escort is a Zetec not a CVH so if your going to to that effort you may as well stick the 2litre in from a Mondeo
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

get a 1.6 carb cvh and all you need is the xr2 carb. everything else should bolt straight on. i did thison my old escort. only needed the 1.6 carb everything else bolted straight to it
At least i dont drive a saxo!!
