1.4 si engine noise

hi i have a 1.4 cvh si and its got an air filter and a pipe on it. the only problem is it still sounds like a washing Machine, its had a new Alternator and cam belt but is still the same. and ideas? is this normal?

erm.. just seems to be alot to engine noise, not tapping though. could be belts?drowning up the revs. also there is a wire on the left of the engine bay bolted to the chassis, looks like and earthing wire? that is not connecting to anything, any ideas?

Possibly someone has put a washing machine sounds effects tape in your cassette player :aviator:

just read your first post agin

1.4 cvh si



i believe all Si's to be zetecs 1.4 and 1.6

often wire dont connect to any thing is they are used by garages for testing etc. but if there is a nut/bolt there loose or fallen out it may need reconnecting----check wiring diagrams

nah the 1.4 is a cvh, 1.6 is a 16v zetec.

bros 1.4cvh escort never sounded exactly quiet
Was a CTR , now RS2000 Power :D
