as the title say i need to know what to set my tappets to as it is noisey and is driving me mad because it sounds like a train. hope you guys can help me hope you can.

Replacing them is a piece of piss but ythey usually wear with the camshaft so you will probably find that needs changing as well. The limit for a CVH cam is about 70,000 miles so if you are over that you really will want to change the lot

well it on 115k it frives lovely, i just want to adjust the tappets first to see how it goes and then if it makes no difference i will change the lot, at the moment i dont have lots of cash down to being a student :( so what are the gaps to be set at then?

Isn't the 1.4 a CVH engine? If it is then the tappets will be hydraulic lifters and you won't be able to adjust them, they'll need replacing with a new cam.
