1.6 16V Futura -> 2.0l
hi
i am new here and i know this topic was there a thousand times but i am still not sure about everything, so i will just ask again and hope for help
so my current car is a 1.6 16v mk3 from 1994 which i guess is called SI in UK. i read a few threads here and to me it sounds kinda easy from the SI to a 2l from a mondeo. is this possible for someone who has never done such a thing before??? i cant afford it at ford or some other shop.
i checked on http://www.fiestaprojects.com and saw Zetec-E and Zetec-R, a Zetec-E there seems to be easier so i guess thats the best choice was this engine only used in mondeos from 1995-1998??? or also somewhere else??? i wanna go to the scrapyards in my area and look for one then.
and one other question about mounting points of the engine. will i have to do any changes or will it work how it is now??? in some threads i read that i need to make new points, in some i read all is fine how it is. can anyone tell me whats right now???
thanks for any answers and sorry for my bad english

You already found the best web site.
Yes easiest conversion if you already have Si is to go Mondeo 2.0 Zetec E and you are right about the typical years. You can easily tell the E cos the others have the black cam cover.
You can use same engine mounts as your Si just swap them over and you should make sure you also get the right ECU
If you let me have an e-mail address I can send you a big articleI wrote describing the conversion in detail.
