I understand its easy to convert 1.1 carb to 1.6 carb, a few questions:

Do the suspension arms need changing?
Does the clock need changin, so the speedo is right, cos the cvh 5 spd has different gear ratios.

There is no specific need to change the lower arms. The parts that must be changed are listed here:

Your primary concern is braking and shocks/springs due to the increase in engine weight.

Clocks do not need changing - the Ford speedo gearing is the same for all BC, iB5 and MTX75 boxes afaik.

Sludge, rattles, excessive blow-by gases from the oil filler cap, blowing oil filler cap or dipstick out, leaks, excessive dirt, difficulty selecting gear, whining from box, poor starting, poor running, smoke especially under load and, to a lesser extent, on startup) to name a few things.
