1.6 ecu or 2.0 ecu????????????

Postby Wude Si 16v on Tue Jan 28, 2003 11:53 pm

Get my car back in a few days and getting a little concerned about this factor of the conversion. i am running the 2.0 injectors and the bloke who is doing it said that the ecu's were the same, so i took his word.

Can someone please explain this to me cos i am lost:-

which is the better ecu? dumn question i know

would i be able to tell any difference in performance + why?

will the 2.0l work ok on the si ecu?

will the 2.0l injectors be firing correct?

many thanks, Adam.

It should run ok with the Si ECU but you'll need the 2.0L one to get best results.

rightio il share my knowledge of zetec e ecus,

the codes are as follows:-

GERM - 1.1i not a zetec but i thioght the name was funny :D

GURU - 1.6 si etc

DEEP - 2.0 mondy ecu 130 spec style

CULT - 1.8 RS1800 fiesta ecu 130 spec, thk revs better than mondy one

i tired TELL (2.0 mondy one again) that didnt work at all, might have been a dodgy one thou, the code can be seen on the sticker at the connector

Nb: if you have no E-DIS module on your bulkhead (centre of the bulkhead), you must use ECUs with an engineering code beginning 94, eg "94 AB CDEFG AA" - these include the 130ps RS1800, 130ps 2.0L Mondy engine, possibly the 115ps 1800 Mondy engine, and not a lot else.

If it now has E-DIS, you need to use a 92-94 ECU. Since you still have the Si ECU, you must use the 94 version :)
