It is a 1.6 litre petrol engine, that's all.
As for fuel tanks, it appears you will only need the inertia switch, appropriate relay and pump, as wiring is already in place and, although I haven't absolutely confirmed this yet, the tanks *appear* identical. In any case, I have at least one tank you are welcome to.

Using my newly aquired knowledge, u would also need to get new transmission as with a 50% greater engine, the ratios will be different

That's what I meant, but for insurance purposes, 1.6 petrol means a lot less than XR2i, as you're less likely just to buy a 1.6 petrol to be aboyracer in than a 2i.

You "forget" to mention the proper details of the engine; they "forget" to pay out when you make a claim.
Not worth it - either be completely honest, or be prepared to take the fall if it goes ti ts up.
(soap box put away now).

just tell your insurance you've put a 1.6 in and then if they want to know more just say yep it's a cvh efi engine. If they ask what car it's from just say you dunno [ERRR] the engine was bought from a scrappy on it's own.

Me thinks that the insurance company would rather a car with the original engine, rather than one which has its engine transplanted in.
What im trying to say is:
Insurance should be lower for a XR2i, bcos the engine hasnt been played with, and is standard.
Where as they may not take kindly to an engine transplant, considering the things that could go wrong.
