What are the differences between the 1.6 XR2i engine and the 1.6 RST engine????

What do i have to change to convert my 1.6 XR2i engine into a RST engine???

Obviously the engine, ECU, Gearbox( ERST is better) its all a pretty easy swap cos their almost identical in size & shape. I think the fuel pumps r the same.

JUST DONE CONVERSION MY SELF, I BELIEVE THAT THE FRST HAS LOWER COMPRESSION THAN XR2I, TO CONVERT YOU NEED ENGINE, LOOM, ECU , MAP SENSOR AND BOOST CONTROL VALVE.

u need the bootom end definately ! you can get ure head converted for a turbo but be cheaper to buy a turbo engine with a turbo head! u can keep the inlet manifold from ure 2i as long as its got the idle control valve on. u will need zorst manifold, turbo and downpipe and full FRST zorst system. all charge hoses and carriers. Amal valve, map sensor (must be square OFAC type), ECU OFAC it must be OFAC. should be about it

oh yeah also the 1.6 turbo engine has lower compression and a displacement of 1598cc the XR2i displaces 1597 cc

2i inlet manifold needs to be dismantled and rebuilt with new gaskets to FRST specific torque settings for the conversion. You will also need the fan switch (orange plastic band), rad, intercooler, pipework, full exhaust, and what FIESTArsTURBO said
