rite guys im looking into doin my conversion around about march time. ill b 18 by then an [ERRR] have sum bday mony to help fund it. i red a while back that sum1 was offering to do this conversion for around the £500 mark ??? i think i mite of misred that tho.

Anyhow seen as ive got the 1.6 zetec im just lookin for the 2.0 yea ?
i need 2 no what mondeo engine i gota look out for n what make n model really? any info on the engine n where it cums from would b gr8!!

ive herd that i can only get 1 kind of engine if im looking into staying in insurance group 9.

so i herd. well im in insurance group 8. but aslong as u go with a company that puts u in the group u got the engine out of i shoud b ok. i wouldnt listen 2 me tho im probaly wrong. :lol:

HIC consider an 1.6 Si (originally grp

to be a group 9 car once the 2.0 litre zetec is fitted.

The engine you are looking for is a 2.0 litre Zetec E that will come from Mondeos around the 94 mark. Expect to pay about £250-£400 depending on how good condition its in and whether or not it comes with the ECU.

No, not reconditioned mate, it costs quite a bit more to have one reconditioned. Mine came with only 60,000 miles on it and was in that price range.

The Main Site :1995 Series 2 - distinguishable by "Zetec 16v" lettering embossed on the cam cover. Minor revisions to aleviate sticking valve problems. Also improvements to spark plugs, injectors, gaskets and cosmetics.

zetec-si - The zetec E is the first series mate.

It will have "DOHC 16v" on the cam cover, the same as on your 1.6 now.

Doh, soz about that, Jay must have got a different rocker cover powder coated for me! Mine says "16V Zetec" on it.
