me bro got an escort xr31 J reg 1.8 105ps 16v DOHC 16v engine, its got 92k on the clock and he says i can take the throttle body from it for free and switch it with the one on me Si. no my question is will the 105ps throttle body fit easily or will i have to do some hacking? and also is it an easy DIY fit or do i have to take it to a pro to get set up and will it make any difference to the performance of me engine? i know i could take the whole engine but my Si engine got 40k on the clock and is in better condition than the Xri block cuz my Si is been ours from new where as the Xri has had 5 owners.
105ps throttle body make any difference to me Si?
and if i do the swap would me 90ps throttle body fit on me brothers escort? or will it cause any problems?

i've got a RS1800 throttle body on mine, easy fit , straight swap.

and i did notice a bit more power

cool but the throttle body that i have access to is from an escort 105ps 1.8 engine. would that still fit easily? and since it is 105ps and not 130ps would that still render an improvement or not? since it is a part that i can get for FREE from my brother even a 1bhp increase may be worth it.
by bros car has done 90k and my fiesta has done 40k, would his throttle body be knackered or bad news if i did the swap?
also if i fit my 90ps throttle body to bros escort will the escort still be driveable or will it cause problems? since if it is still driveable my bro will be selling the car with the 90ps unit in it from my car... heheheh.

you'd prob have to do a little bit of hacking (depends how the throttle housing is mounted in the escort), i put a 2litre mondeo one on my Si today, it needed a few mods (but nothing major) it might have made a slight improvement to performance, but cant really tell, only done 60 miles with it.

at 90k it wont be knackered, but might benefit from a light clean

i cant see it being modded to fit as the 130 ps didnt need it

cos its free ------ stick it on

the escort is now outside my house. i will take a look at it after work, if it needs hacking then ill forget about it. if its a direct fit with no hassle then ill swap it over.
what will happen to the escort if i stick the Si 90ps throttle body on it? will the car still drive?
