1.8 16V XR2I / RS1800 INLET MANIFOLDS

Postby martyb1800xr2i on Fri Feb 10, 2006 12:40 pm

i have a 1.8 zetec xr2i and after talking to power engineering they made me aware of a variation with the inlet manifolds between the 2i and RS1800.

I have upgraded the ECU, throttle body and have cams to go in all from an rs1800 but the manifolds are suposibly different, i have an rs1800 manifold and the stuff power engineering said adds up. the 2i the manifold looks the same the only difference is 2 letters on the back on my current one it says SO (standard output) the rs1800 says HO (high output?)
this is exactly [ERRR] power engineering said to look for and apparently there is a major difference although not visable to the eye? can anyone confirm this.???

Have heard this and am planning on getting the two flow tested back to back over the spring to see what's what

the rs1800 inlet ports have a bigger internal diameter than the 2i/si 16v.
if you put the 2 side by side you'll notice the difference
