1.8 16v zetec options

got a basic 1.8 zetec engine,
what are the options?

the only one i know about is making it rs1800 spec,
with cams, throttle body and ecu from a 2.0 zetec engine

what can i do for now?
can i run the above with the normal ecu???

please help i'm a bit confused
