1.8 ecu for a 2ltr?

Hi guys i have an rs1800 with a 2ltr mondeo mk1 engine. i was told to put a 2ltr modeo ecu in, which i did and now it wont work. i realise that i still have the 1800 wiring loom. is there any 2ltr ecu that will work on the rs1800 wiring loom? the code word on the 2ltr one ive got is TELL. would i have to change the whole loom???
