Sorry mate but tuning the 1.6 Zetec found in the Si is a waste of time it is notoriously hard to get anything out of. Bung a filter on and a back box and as funds allow either chancge the car or bung in a 2 litre.

Yeh what he said

Theres only so much you can do to an si and even then theres not much of a difference.

-Induction and exhuast would give you a slight power increase and makes her sound sweet.

-2l throttle body's and maf would in theory help but you wont get a noticable power increase. But for sake of a few duid or a trip to the dump it aint a bad idea i suppose. All donw to you matey.

-Then you could get piper cams and chip but for the money your spending you wont get a huge increase it mainly makes it run smoother and more responsive. I think
For sake of spending £600 or so on cams & chip you may as well 2l it.

the 1600 zetec was copied from the 1800
they just downsized most things

mainly the head is very restrictive, making it heavier on petrol and poor performance

two proper things worth doing
1.8 or 2.0 :Q

well mine was 121 bhp before i sold the bits off, got a 2.0 in the pipework now, but the 121 was a fluke, right parts at the right time etc. i could never get it on another engine i reackon, 2 b honest, once u have a full exhaust, induction kit and chippied it with a power boosts valve, change the plugs and leads.

i got an extra 4bhp from my car by upgrading and re-doing all main ignition related engine earths points and wireing!!!
