I know of someone who has a Power Engineering 1900

it has split the bore twice !!!!!

The cvh can take only 20 psi before the rods will bend.

So that limits the amount of power you can get from one.

Rob from SCC had a 242 bhp S2 that is about the most bhp I have heard of apart from the datapost red one

hope this helps

Mike.

Mike, thats exactly why Power engineering don't do a 1.9 anymore.... boring out a 1600 to a 1900 and shoving liners in makes the bore walls too thin, et voila split bores!!!

and thats why SpecEng are still the premier choice in 1900s CVH's.

Split bores, wanna know why. Because the conversion is a poo one no-matter who does it. Fact of the matter is that the pistons are too shallow and "tilt" in the bores, get jammed and split bores or just wear them out in seconds. Get a zetec lump and turbo that.

the specEng lump is a tall block 1900 american escort block not an overbored 1600, the bore walls are too thin for it, everyone knows that and any 'tuning' company selling 1600's bored to 1900 should not be in business.
