why bother in that case? just chuck a mk2 xr2 cvh in with the webber carb? would go a lot better! but if you really want the kent crossflow then use the standard dizzt etc ( i would go for a mk1 xr2 1600 crossflow meself!)

go with that lump then but fit the standard dizzy, you can upgrade the carb at a later date! it bolts straight in and the wiring should be piss easy

First off you wanna find out what the 1.3 is from.. If it's not from a mk1 fiesta then you gonna have to work on the mounts, oil pump, water pump amongest other things to make it work.

Dizzy wise? - It'll be using fords breakerless igniton afaik from standard, i don't have a clue how this wires in though. Might be best to check the message board at xroc.co.uk

I don't even know if it's possible to actually fit a kent engine into a hcs car :-? - Without serious mods.

Easiest thing to do is fit the 1300 HCS CFi engine from a 95 fiesta along with ECU and inlet manifold & injector.

Anything else is a pain in the arse and won't gain you a great deal of power without going down the tuning road, which is awkward with the mid-mounted cam set up of the X-Flow-derived Valencia/HCS engines.

For the grief outlined above you could fit a Zetec engine (you already have all the car-side wiring in place for the fuel pump and the engine loom is a straight swap).

The 1300 engine you're talking about will almost certainly bolt straight in but if you don't have the 1300 injection parts you might be better off seeing if it will run with the existing 1100cc management (it might run lean at top end but the ECU should be able to handle fuelling lower down).

hth a bit - Al

dead easy to drop the crossflow in. You will need to wire up the coil and starter, and maybe swap the plugs for the oil temp, i think they might have an anti run on for the carb which just needs a + ignition feed. You will have to bodge up the hoses with bits of hose, copper pipe and jubliclips which is pritty easy to.

I think crossflow engines are great, if its free its even better! :D :D :D
