13mm or 25mm Wheel Studs - Also question on handling

Postby Brad on Fri Nov 12, 2004 3:29 pm

Ok, after trying the companies people gave us, they have said that they can get the extended wheel studs, but they are either plus 13mm or plus 25mm.

With the 17s I've got, when on normal wheel studs with spacers (3mm at front/8mm at the back), the front hits the arches and the rear rubs on the suspension....

I'm planning on making it 13mm spacers on the back, and 8mm on the front...as I have the spacers already...

So, would it make a difference if I used the +25mm studs over the 13mm studs? It'd just give me more room to be safe, or can you have "too much" wheel stud?

Also, if I use this spacer setup, would it effect the handling much by pushing the wheels 8/13mm further out?

I could alternate it so that I had 6mm/15mm, would this be a better option?

Thanks in advance,

Brad

if the biggest spacers you are using are 13mm, then it seems logical to use 13mm extended stubds?

I think if you use 25mm studs, they may stick right out of the otherside of the wheel nut, making it bloody hard to get a socket over it, and may even get in the way of the wheel centre cap, if they have any!
