16v 2i on FRST ECU?? can you?
can the 16v 2i zetec engine run with the fiesta turbo ECU is there any performance gain?
just read an old magazine tht someone reckoned they'd swapped to just wondering wether it would work or not?
id imagine the maps were all to pieces but what do you think?

Still needs a new sig!!
1.6CVH EFI mk2 turbo (not running needs new front panel)
1.8 16v Focus Turbo! (Leaking oil and doing 1300 miles a week!)
and Honda CBR600 (loving the revlimiter)

Not too likely - I wouldn't have thought the FRST ECU would be designed to do too much until it detected boost through the MAP sensor for a start, plus it would probably kill your cat with overfuelling.
Also, I'm 99% sure the pin layout is totally backwards and you would be more likely to fry a valuable ECU.

yeah, as project said it seems a bit backwards, putting a turbo ECU on a non turbo car - the ecu would constantly be waiting for some boost, waiting to up the fueling or whatever and it wouldnt happen - plus, a lot of the information on the chip would then be totally redundant, thereofre meaning that the bit that acutally gets used isnt as detailed and well thought out.
just my 2 cents tho, all theories!

yeah i was thinking those kind of things too.
but the eeciv system is crank triggered so the system will set the ignition within the parameters of the revs as well as boost?
has anyone completely bust a turbo and still ran it with no boost? does it still run or go into the infamous limp home mode
the car that was supposed to have it was in a feature called addis bin or somthing.
a black mk2 xr2 with 3 spokes and a 1.8 zetec engine.
