1986 1.4 Fiesta Ghia
Picked this up earlier in the week from Kent, 86 1.4 Ghia on 61k. 2 owners from new. The passengers door was smashed up but I replaced that today. Boot and bonnet will be replaced soon too as the paint is flat and the lacquer is lifting. It has a remote boot release but it doesn't work. I'm guess the motor has gone. All I've done so far is service it, replace the passenger door, rewire the audio loom for an aftermarket head unit and fit an XR2 wheel. To do: lowering, nice set of wheels, cage, 4 branch manifold, stainless exhaust, kent cvh22 cam, k&n and possibly bike carbs.

MK2 Jamie :It has a remote boot release but it doesn't work. I'm guess the motor has gone.
The boot latch is just a massive solenoid rather than a motor. They usually stop working because the wires break where they go from the car body into the bootlid. Same for heated screen and wiper.
Assuming by XR2 wheels you mean pepper pots, to me, that always makes them look like an XR2 with the kit missing. I'd be tempted to find a set of the wider steel wheels XR2's came with as standard and then put the trims back on them.

Had a feeling it'd be another gold MK2.
Nice purchase Jamie. Need to find something else to blow out of the exhaust this year.

I dunno about tune, but I'll have a mess about with it. My last 1.4 had a k&n with s/s exhaust and manifold. I wouldn't mind taking it a bit further this time. Thus the kent cam and possibility of bike carbs. With a CVH22 I'd hope for around 5bhp.

Give it 6 months and I will have sold it

Of course, just need to find some suitable suspension. The lower the better

Not till the filter charger is fitted. Even without it I'm having trouble putting the power down. May need to go for road legal semi slicks.

The first thing I did was check all the wires, but I'm going to double check them this weekend. I meant to put wheel not wheels. I would never put pepperpots on my car, I actually hate them haha.

I'll make sure to have a decent exhaust on the car for Ford Fair so we can blow an assortment of items out of my exhaust.
