Re: 1987 1.4 Fiesta Ghia - *under bonnet sound deadening*
Right so I've been collecting bits over the past couple of weeks and the 2 larger bits came today. A set of 13X6J allycats and a scorpion exhaust as well as an XR2 down pipe. The XR2 down pipe was needed to convert the manifold to XR2 spec to allow fitment of the Scorpion. I got home from work at 5 today and got straight on with fitting the exhaust. It ended up taking a lot longer to fit than I expected so I don't have any pictures of it fitted. I'll get some tomorrow once I've washed the car. I'm not really sure what to do with the allycats paint wise, I'm open to suggestions. I know I want to polish the lip but I'm un sure on paint color for the centers.

Yea I think the MK3 down pipes are similar, if not the same. The 1.4 is staying for this summer/show season then once that's out the way It'll be going 1.6 with either an XR2 engine or CVH turbo

Re: 1987 1.4 Fiesta Ghia - *Scorpion exhaust and allycats*
I went through different grades of sandpaper then used polishing wheels on a drill with cutting compounds. I've given up on polishing and already sprayed 2 of the wheels in a "steel" color. It's darker than normal silver but not quite gun metal. It looks goods. Should have them fitted on the weekend.

Lowering springs arrived today so it will be lowered. But by the time fitp comes round it will almost certainly be on coilovers.

I managed to get the allycats fitted this weekend as well as some lowering springs that I'm guessing are only 35mm but its better than nothing. I reckon with more low the wheels would look good. The allycats are actually going to be up for sale next week as I've found another set of wheels I want so if anyone is interested drop me a PM. Next things on the list are coilovers and pressed plates.

Thanks mate, I haven't had a look under the carpet yet. The underneath is really solid, I could find anything crusty which is good. Of course that's not to say there isn't anything lurking under the carpet. Hopefully no riveted on plates

Re: 1987 1.4 Fiesta Ghia - *more new wheels*
Had the tyres swapped over from the Allycats to the RS Snowflakes yesterday. I think they look a lot better than the Allycats. Just need some coilovers now
Today out of boredom I changed the exhaust manifold studs to some stainless steel ones I ordered off ebay, this should make fitting the 4 branch manifold that should be with me in a couple of days a lot easier and quicker. That didn't take very long as the manifolds didn't put up a fight at all so I decided to re wire all the speakers in the car because I was using the original speaker wires and the sounds was shocking.
