The rubber on the 3rd hanger is like that. I'm going to rotate it tomorrow and bend the hangers a bit

Re: 1987 1.4 Fiesta Ghia - *4 branch and 3rd hanger*
Haven't done much to the car recently mainly due to money. On the weekend I fitted a K&N that I got off kip. I've got a oil breather filter on its way to me so I'll put that on the rocker cover when it arrives. There is a hose coming off the inlet manifold that went to the airbox originally and I'm not sure what to do with it? I blocked it off because when it wasn't blocked the car didn't run right. I've got a spare rocker cover, so I'll spray that on the weekend although I'm not sure what color yet.

Funny you should say that. The picture I posted was just after I drove it for the first time after fitting the filter charger thus the lack of bonnet in the picture. It's a minor problem that I'll have to work around.

Haven't had much chance to post an update recently but here we go. Not much really but I got a chrome rocker cover and I'm in the process of fitting some gauges, just waiting on an oil pressure gauge which should be here next week. Today I moved the head unit to the glove box, now the glove box glows at night. Should be picking up an XR2 engine next week. I'll do the cambelt then chuck it in, no messing about this time. I reckon I could get it in before fitp but I'm being pretty lazy at the moment so we'll see.

so did that and put all the new rubber on them and two hours worth of tyre penning

What a wicked idea, never thought about that as an option. You could always anchor it down with something but if you're only using it as an aux or radio then it shouldn't make much of a difference tbh!

I tried mounting the head unit there on my mk1 but it wouldn't stay still so I took it out.
Will be impressed if the engine change is all done for fitp

Re: 1987 1.4 Fiesta Ghia - *engine detailing and gauges*
The head unit is stuck down fairly securely, I was expecting to rattle a bit but since I've moved it I've done some motor way driving and gone a long some country lanes and its been fine
I would be impressed if the engine was done before FITP too but we'll see.

I'll be running the 1.6 on the 1.4 box I'm afraid. You still hunting for a 1400 box?

You're right smo, turns out it will just be a case of unbolting the block from the gearbox and engine mount, taking it out and dropping in the new engine block. No need to remove the gear box or exhaust system If I get the engine then I'll service it this weekend and if my mate is free then head up his workshop next weekend and drop the engine in.

Got it off ebay, It just clips in. It's made of pretty soft metal so the clips are easy to bend to get them to clip in tight.
