1988 S2 BLACK RS TURBO SOLD!!
For sale is my 1988 Ford Escort RS Turbo Series 2, finished in black and with 78,000 genuine miles from new (previous old MOT's included to back up mileage). There is also a large batch of old invoices and old tax discs etc.
2 months tax and 2 months MOT.
Solid underneath with only minimal rust on the body. There are only 2 spots of rust behind the sunroof and a small patch under the Ford badge on the bonnet. Otherwise rust free and solid underneath. Boot floor solid as well but no spare wheel. Normal stone chips on bonnet and a couple of stone chips on the windscreen.
Electric windows, electric mirrors etc all working all ok, there is also a turbo timer fitted where the clock would be at the top of the windscreen and a white faced boost gauge fitted where the coin tray once was on the dash surround. Standard black dials.
The car has a Sony single din aftermarket stereo fitted, 6x9 rear speakers in the uprated parcel shelf, 15 inch Sierra Cosworth lattice alloy wheels painted black, smoked rear lights, smoked side repeaters, clear front repeaters, Bailey dump valve, red Samco hoses, black rocker cover, Pipercross cone filter, turbo back stainless steel exhaust.
Recently has had new oil, fuel filter, plugs, leads, dizzy cap and timing has been checked. Car was previously owned by a Ford main dealer mechanic so has been looked after as and when needed.
Other than the minimal rust spots mentioned above, the only other bad point to think of is that the fuel gauge drops when braking, possible bad wiring? Otherwise reads correctly. The windows have some glue still on from when the windows tinted, but this can easily be removed and the seats could do with a clean. No rips, tears or damage to the seats.
Overall a solid, reliable RS Turbo that could be used daily with no issues at all, not a concours car but not priced as one so please do not expect a concours car, but a good one.
The price for the car is £1700ovno and it is priced to sell, sold as seen and with tax and mot as stated above.

Re: 1988 S2 BLACK RS TURBO
I'll second that, good car for the money this, nips along really well and solid underneath, getting rare to see one these days without rust creeping up all over!!
As mitch said, not a concours car but a good, usuable one with a lot of potential imo

The drivers seat does sit on the slant but have another one just need to get the base fixed (seat pan) The boot lid as far as im aware has never been sprayed and ive never noticed the orange tinge u have :/ (boot lid or boot floor?) All i can say for the car is its very solid for the money. Any other questions or pics that are needed/wanted just let me no hope this helps

Re: 1988 S2 BLACK RS TURBO
like ive said jon is very solid for 2200 and only needs a few minnor things done to make a very respectable one i think. especially with the millage backd up etc. ideal as a cheap bit of fun or as a good base to start build on either way a descent rs wich is hard to say for alot of them now a days
